Founded in 2007, Title IX Girls Running Club is a community based, non-profit running club for preteen and adolescent girls. The organization's principal running program uses the principles of running to strengthen the connection among mental, social and physical health in girls' ages 9-15. The consciousness raising and skill acquisition learned at TIXGRC becomes their foundation for lifelong well-being and success. This approach creates a safe, inclusive, and individually meaningful experience for each girl.
The founder, Stacy Rodriguez-Rennard, is a licensed mental health counselor who saw a need for accessible, affordable, community based, age- and gender appropriate, mental-health services and programs for girls. From her many years as the adolescent clinician with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, she provided direct service to adolescents and families recovering from sexual violence. This experience provided her with intimate knowledge of how access and affordability are the two biggest hurdles facing families in the search for quality programs that teach girls about their own health and development. As an avid marathoner, Stacy saw an opportunity to use running to build a creative and innovative approach to meet the needs of girls and their families in Cambridge and surrounding communities.

The post-race party will be held in the ProPark lot located on Church Street (adjacent to the
